Most of the year the lake outlet, about a quarter-mile south of the lake on Echo Lake Road, is an ever-changing creek that passes under the road in a culvert and empties out into a dense, cluttered, scrubby swamp. But a February trip to see friends and check on the cottage delivered a beautiful surprise when we approached the lake from the South. The "swamp" was now a serene, grossly-simplified, ghostly silent tableau. Shhh. |
