| In Leenane, County Galway, at the head of Killary Fjord, is this hauntingly beautiful fountain. On an overcast, windy day in June, we came around the bend and saw her alongside the road, standing with her back to the water and facing the Leenane Hotel. Someone had put a bouquet of pink flowers in her hand, and amazingly, with every gust of wind, a spray of water droplets burst into the air, surrounder her in a veil of glistening diamonds. I didn't know the story behind the flountain but to me she was clearly an angel. |
